In the late 70’s MPI ventured out of the local markets and discovered the independent publisher, a niche in the national market in need of print providers willing to recognize their distinct product requirements. These included short print runs, crisp reproduction of black and white artwork, distinctive color cover reproduction, a delivery system to fit their distribution methods and most importantly a working relationship built on trust. MPI accepted the challenge and today continues to print comics and magazines for many of the leading publishers in the independent publishing industry.

In the tradition of the past two decades MPI offers a variety of services and product choices for comic and magazine publishers. Including excellent full color web reproduction for interior text pages (uncoated paper stock only), a variety of cover paper choices and finishes, additional binding and finishing options and expanded shipping, tracking, delivery and fulfillment services. We specialise in 6 5/8” x 10 1/4” and 8 3/8” x 10 7/8” size formats. Our optimal runs quantities are 1,000 to 100,000 depending on page counts.

We did change our minimum print run from 500 to 1,000 for comics and magazines. MPI understands not every Independent publisher has a warehouse behind the office or in the back yard. Its just more cost effective to start at a 1000 and if you don’t have storage room, we have helped other publishers in the past (if we have room that is).
